Holiday Shopping

Well the holidays are around the corner and it's time to shop! This year our family is going to keep it simple... I think our kids have lost sight of what Christmas etc is all about .... Kids are always expecting lots of toys and gifts for all occasions.... I want my children to learn to give instead of receiving all the time... I think little tokens are appropriate for the holiday seasons and just spending time with the family.... That's what it's all about.... Well on that note stop by MiMe's today a get your stocking stuffers for your girl's today..... I will be having a few holiday sales coming up next month.... Right now we have a promotion going on for the Fall Season...So please read our shop announcement to get every detail..

Featured Guest of the Week!

This weeks feature guest from etsy is Kari from Dots and Daisies Boutique. I recently had the privilege to do an interview with her via E-Mail. So here's the scoop on Dots and Daisies Boutique..... What inspired you to start a shop on etsy?I started my shop on etsy to find an outlet and motivation for the items I craft. It has given me a "job"that I am actually proud of and feel excited to work on. Unlike my job outside the home, my shop gives me some pride in what I am doing. I also feel like it gives my kids a chance to see me doing something I love. The shirts I sell in my shop were inspired by my son. I started making them for him a year and half ago when I couldn't find very many "cute" boy shirts. I've continued to make shirts for both my son and daughter. They love helping me decided on new ideas and have been wonderful models in my shop. The felt board set I also sell in my shop were again inspired by my children. I started making felt sets for my son when he was one years old. I've continued to make new sets for both my children for over four years now. When I decided to open my etsy shop it was a pretty easy decision to include some of my felt board sets, too. I have tons more ideas for them, but only some much time to actually make them.
How long have you been crafting? I have been crafting pretty much my whole life.Creativity is the one quality in myself that I am really proud of. I grew up with a mom who was very creative and have also loved using my own creativity.I don't feel like I have any one type of craft I love to do.I love doing any type of craft that is fun for me and I am always willing to give something new a try.
What is your favorite item in your shop and why? My favorite item in my shop(besides my little models) is my Old McDonald Felt Board Set. I really had fun making all the different animals and love how versatile this set can be. It was also the hardest set to make, but it is definitely a favorite among my children.
You will definitely want to check out Dots and Daisies Boutique... there is so much cuteness is this shop.... you will definitely find great gifts here... http://www.dotsanddaisies.etsy.com/ and you can learn more about Kari at her bloghttp://www.lifewithcreativity.blogspot.com/

Is it worth it to have all that you want!

You here it all the time that most Americans are living above there means... If you ask me prices are ridiculous for anything nowadays. So are you the person who has to have it all nice car, dream home etc... but always broke.... Or are you the person who lives in your means and enjoys your life.. vacationing.. pampering yourself... Isn't that what life is all about... seeing the world enjoying every moment ... not living pay check to pay check for a dream home that is not a great dream after all.. After much thought I would rather live within my means even if it's a small home.... Because I'd rather be the person soaking up the sun...Instead of the person behind the luxurious door with piles of bills...

How much is to much work?

Ever since I've decided to start my own business it has been nothing but excitement! I'm constantly on the computer and doing research. I am just addicted to building this great business! I thought to my self "How much is to much work." So I've have been slacking in some areas of the home and yes I've been slacking with my family. At times I feel like it's worth it for success..... Of course my role as a mother and wife come first.... How do you balance the two....They both require lots of attention! So my question to you is .... How much is to much work?

Life's Journeys

Have you ever sat down and thought about things you could have done different with your LIFE and the different things you could have done ? I'm sure all of us have! I've thought a million times about it especially on those frustrating days. I've realize that if I hadn't made some of those mistakes I've made or gone through rough times... I wouldn't be who I am today. Life's Journeys have taught and inspired me ... So my point to all of this is you learn from Life Experiences. You can take those experiences and grow as a person or be that person who sits down and thinks of how life could have been different and go nowhere.

Inspiration

So from time to time I watch the show " THE BIG IDEA" on CNBC a few months back I emailed a guy named Mike Michalowicz who they were talking to. He is the author of a book called Toilet Paper Entrepreneur I took a look at his sight and he has some very interesting information on there especially for those who are just starting out like me.. So I think I'm going to pick up a copy of his book and get inspired.... My note to all of those entrepreneurs is to work hard and don't give up if you believe in something it will work for you!
