Thursday: Family Inspiration Fun Day

Its becoming a trend that I end up writing about cute treats I would like to make with the kids or something I have already done.. So I think Thursday's theme will be Fun Treat Day... Since it is Strawberry Season and it is Picnic Season and a few Summer Parties are in the mix. I found these yummy, cute and fun strawberry snacks you can make with the kids. I think they will be so cute to decorate any table.. Move over Chocolate covered strawberries .. hello sparkle strawberries.. Just think of 4Th of July with red, white and blue strawberries or a cute picnic with rainbow colored strawberries.. I can go on with the endless color selections you can do with these and not to mention it's a healthy choice! Here's how you make them...

RECIPE INGREDIENTS:

1 pint fresh strawberries

1/4 cup colored sugar

4 ounces softened cream cheese

2 teaspoons confectioners sugar

4 teaspoons milk

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Wash the whole berries and pat them dry with a paper towel. Fill a shallow bowl with colored sugar (you can buy this at the grocery store or mix your own by stirring two drops of food coloring into 1/4 cup of sugar).

In a mixing bowl, blend the cream cheese, confectioners sugar, milk, and vanilla extract with a fork until smooth and creamy. Add more milk if needed to achieve the desired consistency.

Holding the berries by their stems, your kids can dip them into the cream cheese mixture, roll them in the sugar, and enjoy.

Tuesday: Who loves going on a picnic..

I truly love going somewhere nice for a picnic with the kids. This is one of those things you can do with your kids without spending any money.(FREE) Pack sandwiches, juice, fruit salad and of course a special treat. Take some sidewalk chalk, balls, bubbles and a nice big blanket. I also recommend taking a large umbrella to block the sun from the little ones. To go along with the theme of picnics I found this cute birthday party idea. As you can see this is a picnic theme birthday for a child. How cute is the little mini picnic basket for a favor. You can find mini baskets like this for only 2.00 at a wedding favor shop(online). Great for summer birthdays:)..

Memorial Day Weekend....

On Memorial Day we don't do anything big... We do appreciate all our soliders and what they have done for us.. We have several family members that have dedicated there time to service our country... So we usually relax and eat a few picnic favorites, hamburgers, baked beans, corn on the cob and my favorite a nice LARGE cup of cold lemonade...... I hope everyone enjoys their Memorial Day and bless those who have lost or have been away from love ones on this day....
